Friday 27th April 2007 - Broxburn - Broxburn Loyalists Street Competition, Broxburn

Broxburn is seen by some as one of the best Band Parades of the year, and those type of comments really have merits, the route is an excellent one as the Bands Marshall at the Industrial estate and make way right into the main street through the centre of Broxburn and onto the finishing point at the community hall where the Band hold a function every year. The Parade last for around 45 minutes and the streets are lined with thousands of supporters, cheering on there favourite Bands

The Band played with 14 fluters, 5 side drums, 1 bass drum and 2 cymbal players, with no less than 3 Band members making there debuts, James, Andy and Gary, and also two other fluters only making there second appearance with the Band, in all the Band had 4 new fluters along with two new cymbal players in what has been a great year for new members coming through, these new members all relished the Broxburn Parade with the huge crowds up the high street, the Band gave a very solid performance and it was nice to support our friends from the East in what is becoming one of Scotland's most popular Band Parades.

We stayed after the Parade to watch some of the Bands come in and to partake in some refreshments to support the function that had been laid on by the host Band.

While the Band were not mentioned in the prize giving ceremony we were proud to not only take part but to blood so many of our new members at the Parade, things are certainly looking bright for the future with a new influx of younger members which has seriously invigorated the experienced members of the Band.
